A couple of weeks ago, I was challenged by i-Weekly to learn a K-pop routine. Now, outside of the Wonder Girls, I have never listened to Korean music. Up until recently, I’d never heard of Super Junior (the managers in the office were appalled). I’ve never watched a single Korean drama…my closest contact to the culture is through my wonderful Korean hairstylist, who is responsible for helping me look presentable (I’m very lazy when it comes to hair); and the delicious food (Ginseng chicken! Bulgogi! Naengmyeon! yum yum yum yummy…), but then, I basically have an interest in food in general, so that doesn’t really count.

My dance instructor was so patient with me, and even though I thought I made a real mess of it, she was really encouraging, and even said I’m a really fast learner. (While that part may be somewhat true in terms of merely picking up the steps, she chose to not comment on the bad execution!)

I danced to Brown Eyed Girls’ Abracadabra. I immediately took to both the song and the video – very slick, very catchy.

And of course, I just had to try on a hanbok!

Jade, you look super Korean in the pic! Very nice! I just came back from Korea and all the girls all have the same hairstyle! haha.
And I love this song by the Brown Eyed Girls too! I’m not usually into k-pop but this song is really addictive!
