Once I get you up there where the air is rarefied/ We’ll just glide, starry-eyed
July 2, 2010Last weekend, I went on the Singapore Flyer with some friends. It was my third time on it, but I still enjoyed it immensely. Perhaps it’s because the other two times I rode the Flyer was for work; perhaps it was the company this time around; but I think the main reason was that there’s just something magical about being way up high, and looking at our lovely country from a different vantage point. I’ve always wished I could fly, and this replicates the feeling of flying…well, somewhat, anyway. A girl can dream!
View of my favourite part of Singapore, the beautiful east.
Some friends in the next capsule.
The “new” Singapore that was not there the last time I rode the Flyer. When I look at the tall Marina Bay Sands hotel with its sky deck on top, I imagine that there was a huge world-wind that blew a ship to land neatly on top of the building.
The trusty ECP, and my preferred route home from town.
Enjoy your weekend!
