A couple of weeks ago, a friend of mine got a room at the Marina Bay Sands hotel, and she generously invited me over to check it out. I was most excited about catching the view from the skypark! And it did not disappoint. As I’ve mentioned before, I have quite the soft spot for panoramic views, especially of my own country. (It brings out strange feelings of national pride; I actually get pretty annoyed when locals put down our own country, and insist Singapore has nothing to offer!) Being able to see far and wide like that just makes the world seem that bit lovelier, prettier, even if for those few fleeting moments. I was also fortunate to be there at a time when things look that bit more enchanting - at sunset (second only to my favourite, sunrise!). The pictures don’t do it justice – it’s absolutely gorgeous.

Like icing on the cake, a splendid rainbow suddenly appeared just after the sun had set.
